FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, October 28, 1997, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec (arrived late) <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen (arrived late) <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator Linda Waite Smith <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beahen called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 5:33 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Receive Recommendation to Authorize Hiring of Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator Waite Smith reported that due to an employee resignation that became <br />official on September 19, the Streets Department has an opening for a Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker. The position was advertised internally and one application was received <br />from a part-time worker. The applicant was interviewed on October 9, by a panel consisting of <br />the Administrative Services Manager, the Public Works Supervisor and two Public Works <br />Maintenance Workers. The panel is recommending the position be offered to Brian Ihnot. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to recommend <br />that Council authorize hiring Brian Ihnot as a full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker at an <br />annual salary of $22,152 ($10.65 per hour), contingent on successful completion of a pre- <br />employment physical examination, including a drug and alcohol test, and on satisfactory results <br />of background checks with the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Bureau of Criminal <br />Apprehension. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beyer, Zimmerman, and Beahen. Voting No: <br />None.
