PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, March 4, 1997, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input <br />regarding a Request for a Conditional Use Permit for an Accessory Building Larger than Allowed by <br />City Code; Case of Rhonda Morris. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br /> <br />Commissioner <br />Commissioner <br />Commissioner <br />Commissioner <br /> <br />Paul Holland <br />Sharon Jensen <br />Charles LaDue <br />Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Michael Terry <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden opened the public heating at 8:31 p.m. <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR AN ACCESSORY BUILDING <br />LARGER THAN ALLOWED BY CITY CODE; CASE OF RltONDA MORRIS <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that the proposal is for the construction of an indoor horse arena on <br />Outlot B, adjacent to the purchased homestead, which will be used for non-commercial purposes. <br /> <br />Mr. Craig Morris stated that he and his wife plan to upgrade the farmstead to raise and train horses. <br />None of the horses will be boarded. Along the front of the buildings will be fascia and brick with <br />landscaping. The front structures will have asphalt shingle roofs, not tin. Hay storage and a facility <br />for machinery will be built adjacent to the property. He has met with his neighbors who have signed <br />a petition indicating their agreement with his plans. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Dan Moore, 6721 166th Lane, asked if the house and farm stable with white fence would remain. <br />Mr. Morris answered, yes. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue, seconded by Commissioner Deemer to close the public heating. <br /> <br />Public Hearing/Planning Commission/March 4, 1997 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
