PUBLIC l~ARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, May 6, 1997, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input <br />regarding a request to renew a conditional use permit for a water treatment facility. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Deemer called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Mr. Otter stated that the water treatment plant has been in operation since 1991. Plant expectations <br />have been met for the past five years of operation and are ahead of schedule with regard to <br />groundwater work. The wells in operation will probably shut down after 10 years, as projected. The <br />State Superfund Bill provides for the state to take over a number of sites including the Ramsey site <br />in July 1997. As part of the conditional use permit, he requested that condition No. 10 provide that <br />it be transferrable to the Pollution Control Agency of the state when that takeover takes place. At <br />this time the permit is non-assignable. He requested that the resolution specifically state that this <br />permit is a continuation of the existing permit and that the date in condition No. 27 be updated to <br />June 20, 1996. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter further stated that sample testing is done monthly and requested that condition No. 19 state <br />that annual testing will be done if requested. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Commission to accept the above-noted changes to condition Nos. 10, 19 <br />and 27. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> <br />
