RAMSEY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />Special Meeting of Sept-ember 28, 1980 <br /> <br />Io <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> <br />Others present: <br /> <br />Terry McLean, Dick Swanson, John Lichter, Dennis Donovan, <br />Janice Johnson, Don Lokker and Greg Drake <br /> <br />Mayor Tom Gamec and Ron Alwin from CED <br /> <br />The report prepared by CED was reviewed and discussion was held regarding the <br />scope of phase I in Central Park. After some discussion it was decided not to <br />drop any items in Phase I but to add cable and post fencing along all interior <br />roads to prevent vandalism to fields. <br /> <br />At Titterud Park it was decided to cut the sprinkling system, add security light <br />and backstop and keep the creative play area. Traprock improvements included <br />fencing, a creative play area and one set of bleachers. Fencing around the <br />creative play and parking areas was also suggested. At Peltzer Park post and <br />cable fencing and a small shelter were suggested. It was decided to drop the <br />nature trail on the bond issue. A summary of cost estimates is as follows: <br /> Titterud Park ~ $10,000 <br /> Traprock Park - 15,000 <br /> Pel tzer Park - 10,000 <br /> Central Park - · 800,000 <br /> Maintenance Equip 25;000 <br /> <br />TOTAL ESTIMATED COST $860,000 <br /> <br />It was decided to try and hold the referendum in conjunction with the November <br />Election. <br /> <br />CED estimates the brochure graphics and mailing costs to be $3,000.00. It <br />was noted that the brochure should be complete by October 1st. <br /> <br />Dennis Donovan volunteered to form a committee to write the brochure with CED. <br /> <br />A public information meeting was scheduled for September ii, 1980 to discuss <br />the bond issue proposal with RYAA, the Saddle Club, Community School, Lions <br />C1 ub, Hockey Ass'n and others. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:09 P.M. <br /> <br />Submitted by, <br /> <br />John Lichter <br /> <br /> <br />
