FINDING8 REPORT
ON
ALBERT REQ~F~T FOR REZONING

December 9, 197&

On December 9, 197& Hr. Emmans moved we_.recommend the rezoning
of Hr. Gorham's 56 acres south of 153rd Ave. on. both sides of
Highway ~7 and Hr. Holaaek s 36 acres continuingwest ,from Hr.
Gorham's 56 acres, from R-1 to B-2 z.on, lng, according, to the
plan brought in by Mr. Albert. We feel.this,, is a good location
and will enhanee the tax base for the C~ity of Ramsey and: from
Mr. Albert's petition" this, land is c4~rally located and there
has been much residential, construction inthe ,near and, surrounding
areas without adequate, commercial .services to handle the: people
and to service their needs; that_ it. is essentia!~that ~commercial
areas be centrally located; that. this particular area,is centrally
located; the zoning in this case would not add~ to the tax burden
upon the school district and .would he an. accommodation: and neces-
sary for the people living, in the area; in the: light of the energY
problem it would shorten the mileage used~for transportation and
with the hope for development of 153rd Street, it would give easy
access to all areaa to be zoned commercial; the.petitiOners fur-
ther add that at this time the land' shou~'~'/be~zoned .commercial,
although there are no immediate plans for development~ because
those plans take some time to~be put together; the petitioners
further represent that such development in..no way depreciates
property values abutting the property or in no way adversely
affects the environment, general health or safety of the ,people
in the City of Ramsey or any' of those in the surrounding areas."
Seconded by Hr. Bodle. Motion carried unanimously.

CITY OF RAMSEY~LANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
Secretary ~
