PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Comacil was held on January 13, 1981 <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, ~r~nesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Comncilperson Sorteberg <br />Councilperson Reimarm <br />Comncilperson Van Wagner <br />Comncilperson Cox <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Attorney Bill Goodrich <br />City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and led in the Pledge <br />of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented an award from the City to Jason Ross in appreciation <br />for his finding a billfold at Bob's Super Value parking lot and returning <br />it to the owner. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented an award to Arlene Stafford for her outstanding work <br />performance in overseeing the election day process for the elections in <br />1978 and 1980. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented an award to Sheila Beyer commending her for her out- <br />standing work performance during 1980. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented an award to Jeanne Moen for her outstanding work per- <br />formance during 1980. <br /> <br />The Council recessed in order to hold a Board of Adjustment public hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reconvened the regular meeting at 8:35 P.M. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Jack Menkveld addressed the Co~uncil concerning certain police problems. He <br />said his company is building a house off of County Road #56, which con- <br />struction has been vandalized many times. He stated that he feels the police <br />need to be patrolling separately and not riding together. He said an inci- <br />dent occurred on January 8, 1981, when if the police had been in two cars <br />instead of one, this incident maybe could have been avoided. Mr. Menkveld <br />feels the fuel saving of both officers riding together is not merited. <br /> <br />Council discussed the two man/car policy - Mayor Gamec said the Council <br />would discuss the same with the Police Chief and get back to Mr. Menkveld. <br />Mr. Carl Schepp appeared with Jack Menkveld and voiced his concern regard- <br />ing this problem also. <br /> <br />C/January 13, 1981 <br /> Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
