General Land Use <br />The City of Ramsey is surrounded on three sides by other municipalities and <br />townships including the Cities of Elk River, Anoka and Oak Grove and by Bums <br />Township. All of these communities are growing communities except for <br />Anoka, which is near fully developed. Ramsey is rapidly growing and has <br />developed for the most part as a bedroom community with most developed land <br />as low-density single family residential. The City has roughly 29 square miles of <br />land, including roadways and open water. The following table represents the <br />existing land use inventory for the City as a whole~. Over <br />6,675 acres have been developed as residential housing, the majority of <br />which is in single family housing units. Other housing types include two <br /> <br />~ Land Use Categories were developed based upon the universal land use classification of the Metropolitan <br />Council.
