W. <br />ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303 <br />427-1410 <br />Honorable Mayor <br />and <br />Members of the City <br />Council - City of Ramsey <br />Gentlemen : <br />In accordance with established procedure of the City of Ramsey, <br />I am submitting herewith the recommended budget for the City <br />of Ramsey for the period from January 1, 1978 to December 31, <br />1978. A public hearing on the proposed budget is set for <br />September 26, 1977. <br />As prescribed by law the City Council must certify the new <br />budget and the revenue required to be raised by ad valorem <br />levy to the County Auditor. The deadline for this certi- <br />fication is Monday, October 10, 1977. Any amendment to the <br />proposed budget which would change the tax levy must be made <br />prior to October 10. A resolution to certify the levy has <br />been prepared based on the proposed budget. <br />The proposed budget is balanced with total appropriations <br />of !7485,891 and will require a tax levy of !9274,834 or 10.95 <br />m:Ll:Ls. The mill rate is based on an estimated assessed valu- <br />ation of 625,105,729 fromthe County Auditor. <br />The budget process wa.s started in July and has allowed City <br />staff the opportunity to evaluate priorities and needs to <br />accomp lish existing and future municipal services. The <br />budget preparation committee has devoted much time in reviewing <br />these needs and recommended changes which set priorities based <br />on the over-all minicipal services. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Phil D.
