PUBLIC HEARING <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Board of Adjustment conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, to hear input <br />regarding a request for a variance to minimum lot size in the rural service area; case of John <br />Gobernatz. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Benjamin Deemer <br />Board Member Leo Anderson <br />Board Member David Bawden <br />Board Member Sharon Jensen <br />Board Member Charles LaDue <br />Board Member Michael Terry <br />Board Member Joe Wivoda <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />Community Development Assistant Sean Walther <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Deemer called the public hearing to order at 7:38 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated Mr. Gobernatz submitted a request for variance to the <br />minimum lot size requirements to subdivide two lots from his 35 acre parcel. He previously gave <br />two of his four children 2.5 acre home sites in 1989. At that time, 2.5 acres was the minimum lot <br />size. He is proposing to give the last two children the same amount of property that the first two <br />received. Although Mr. Gobernatz's proposal complies with the 4 in 40 density rule, it does not <br />comply with the 10 acre minimum lot size requirement. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated Mr. Gobematz would continue to farm and reside in his home <br />on the remaining property. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />Public Hearing/Board of Adjustment/May 5, 1998 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
