PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission conducted a regular meeting on August 13, 1998, <br />at Alpine Park, 6600 - 153rd Avenue NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook <br />Commissioner Beth Asfahl <br />Commissioner Reid Droegemueller <br />Commissioner Tom LaMere <br />Commissioner Steve Ostrum <br />Commissioner Mike Rolfe <br /> <br />Members Excused: Commissioner Jill Johns <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos <br />Fire Chief/Director of Public Works Dean Kapler <br />Maintenance Worker Jim Lacey <br />Maintenance Worker Grant Riemer <br />City Administrator Jim Norman <br />Dir¢c[orx~f Public Works,Grant Riemer <br /> <br />RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook announced the opening of Alpine Park. He spoke about the facilities that <br />would be available for use beginning in the Spring of 1999. These include four ball fields, one <br />soccer field, paths, and irrigation. He stated this Park has been in process for two years. Phase I <br />will continue this fall with tree plantings and path extensions along 153ra Avenue. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec spoke next about the beauty of the park, and its access and convenience to the new <br />residential area across the street. He said two more major parks would be developed in the City. <br />He then thanked those who assisted in this process. <br /> <br />Reid Droegemueller, a representative of the Anoka Area Baseball Association presented a check <br />for $200, to be used for tree plantings this fall. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook called the regular Park and Recreation Commission meeting to order at 6:22 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/August 13, 1998 <br /> Page I of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
