PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, February 3, 1998, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input to <br />Consider an Ordinance to Amend Section 9.11.02 (Accessory Uses) of the Ramsey City Code to <br />Allow Pole Buildings, With Design Restrictions, on Properties from Two to Five Acres in Size. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />Community Development Assistant Sean Walther <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden convened the public hearing at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik introduced Community Development Assistant Walther and stated he <br />would be handling the amendment to the accessory building ordinance. <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Walther explained that the City Council requested the Planning <br />Commission and staffto review the code regarding metal accessory buildings. The current threshold <br />for a metal building is 2.5 acres. Council suggested lowering the threshold for metal buildings to 2.0 <br />acres and establishing additional design standards on metal buildings developed on parcels from 2.0 - <br />5.0 acres in size. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer, seconded by Commissioner Terry, to amend the proposed <br />ordinance language regarding design criteria to require that the size of the soffit, facia and eaves <br />match the house. <br /> <br />Public Hearing/Planning Commission/February 3, 1998 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
