<br />PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 18,2007, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Elvig <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Civil Engineer II Leonard Linton <br />Civil Engineer IV Mike McDowell <br />Public Works Supervisor Grant Reimer <br />Utilities Supervisor John Nelson <br />City Administrator Kurt Ulrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig called the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at 5:31 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Scott Rothburn, 15370 Xkimo Street NE, stated that he had brought up the issue about the pond <br />at Highlands Park 2nd Addition at the July Public Works meeting. He stated that he has been <br />talking with Civil Engineer Mike McDowell and understands that the City is trying to locate <br />whether there is a tear or leak in the liner. He stated that he has done his own research and found <br />that there is 1 inch to 1.5 inches leaking per day. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that Mr. Rothburn is correct that there is leaking at the pond. <br />He stated that the City has no proof of where or how the leak started. He stated that the City has <br />purchased dye pellets to see where the water is going. He stated that the City knows there is a <br />leak, it is just a matter of locating where it is. He stated that the City has ordered more pellets to <br />help more accurately determine where the leak is located. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked if the leak has been found. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that the City is fairly confident there is a leak, but there have <br />been no soil borings or proof that soil has been removed around the liner. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked how the City is fairly certain there is a leak. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee / September 18, 2007 <br />Page 1 of 23 <br />
