Mr. Boos stated he was not involved in that program but there has been a lot of discussion at the <br />staff level. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder reported that Bruce Bacon is working on a couple different things. He is working <br />on having wood chipping here. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos added that, last week, Mr. Bacon did a program for cable TV about wood mulches, etc. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer asked if there has been any discussions about increasing our awareness on <br />environmental issues and using Mr. Bacon more. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated there has been no discussion about increasing Mr. Bacon's hours. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman cautioned that there is a fungus (Scotch Pine disease) in the City. He <br />wondered what we could do on the City level to bring awareness of this. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos pointed out that this is not a disease, its some of the seed from back in the 1950's. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman felt we need to work on a program in assisting people in thinning out <br />the trees if they are planted too thick. He hoped we would have enough money in the <br />environmental budget area. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer stated that we have some serious environmental issues and we need to <br />address them. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beahen, Peterson, Beyer and Zimmerman. Voting <br />No: None.
