Anoka County Contract No. 980540 <br /> <br /> JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />FOR CONSTRUCTION OF COUNTY ROAD 116 (INDUSTRY BOULEVARD) <br />FROM COUNTY ROAD 56 (RAMSEY BOULEVARD) <br /> TO COUNTY ROAD 83 (ARMSTRONG BOULEVARD) <br /> (C.P. 95-05-116) <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 11 th day of August, 1998, by and between <br />the County of Anoka, a political subdivision of the State of Minnesota, 2100 Third Avenue, Anoka, <br />Minnesota 55303, hereinafter referred to as the "County," and the City of Ramsey, 15153 Nowthen <br />Boulevard Northwest, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303, hereinafter referred to as the "City." <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS. the parties to this Agreement are mutually a~eed that the construction of <br />County Road 116 (Industry Boulevard) should be done as soon as possible; and <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WI-IEREAS said parties agree that Industry Boulevard should be on the County road system; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS said parties agree it is in their best interest that the County cause the <br />construction of Industry Boulevard; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the County will prepare plans and specifications for Anoka County Project No. <br />98-05-116; and <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the parties agree it is in their best interest that the cost of said project be shared; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, together with the sharing of the cost of construction for the roadway, the City <br />shall incorporate miscellaneous utility work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 471.59 authorizes political subdivisions of the state to enter into <br />joint powers agreements for the joint exercise of powers common to each. <br /> <br /> <br />
