PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at <br />the Ramsey Fire Station, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Interim Human Resources Manager Giovanna Reed <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Personnel Committee was called to order at 5:31 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Kurak to nominate Todd Cook <br />to serve as the Chairperson of the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. All in favor. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Consider Appointment to the Public Safety Board and Establish Term <br /> Expiration Dates for Sitting Board Members <br /> <br />Interim Human Resources Manager Reed stated that in November 2002, Mr. A1 Pearson was <br />elected to serve on the City Council. As a member of the City Council, Mr. Pearson is serving as <br />'a City Council liaison to the Public Safety Board and may not, therefore, maintain his old seat on <br />the Public Safety Board. Staff advertised the vacancy and received one letter of interest, which <br />was submitted by Mr. Joe Riddle. Mr. Riddle has been invited to interview before a panel, which <br />includes the Personnel Committee, the Chair and Vice Chair of the Public Safety Board, and an <br />ex-officio staff member. The interview panel should determine whether the applicant, Mr. <br />Riddle, is suited to serve a four-year term expiring December 31, 2006.
