Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION # <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A REORGANIZATION OF THE <br /> PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff is recommending that the City Council consider reorganization of <br />the Public Works Department; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the operational and fiscal impacts of the proposed reorganization have <br />been considered; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there would be no fiscal impact to the budget if the staff <br />recommendation is accepted; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed reorganization would more clearly define the roll of the <br />second in command in the Public Works Department and would also provide increased <br />supervision, particularly in the absence of the Public Works Director; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Personnel Cormnittee has reviewed the request for reorganization <br />and, along with staff, recommends the proposed changes to the City Council. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />The City Council authorizes the reorganization of the Public Works <br />Department by creating an Assistant Public Works Director position. <br /> <br />Pending approval of Recommendation # 1, the City Council authorizes the <br />promotion of Brian Otson to the position of Assistant Public Works Director <br />effective June 25, 2003 with a six-month probationary period. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br /> <br />And the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />And the following abstained: <br /> <br />And the following were absent: <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />Council this the 24th day of June 2003. <br /> <br />-402- <br /> <br /> <br />
