AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE ASSOCIATE PLANNER <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />At its May 13, 2003 meeting, the City Council authorized staff to begin the recruitment <br />process for an Associate Planner. The position was posted internally and the Community <br />Development Department Intern, Amy Geisler, submitted an application for the position. <br />An interview was conducted by the Community Development Director, Principal Planner <br />and the Human Resources Manager. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Based on the results of the interview, staff is recommending that Amy Geisler be hired to <br />fill the Associate Planner position at $42,740 annually, contingent upon satisfactory <br />background and reference checks, an employment physical and a drug and alcohol <br />screen. All other personnel polices will apply normally. Ms. Geisler will be subject to a <br />six-month probationary period. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council hire Amy Geisler as an Associate Planner <br />with an annual salary of $42,740 annually, contingent upon satisfactory background and <br />reference checks, an employment physical and a drug and alcohol screen. All other <br />personnel polices will apply normally.
