of the approval process. It is anticipated that the parking plan will identify locations where shared parking can take place and also identify strategic locations for parking areas. At your May 1, 2003 meeting, the Planning Commission tabled action on Town Center Zoning District to the June 5, 2003 meeting in order to study the proposed text in greater detail. A joint meeting with the City Council and Town Center Task Force and the Planning Commission was also held on June 3, 2003 to discuss Town .Center Zoning District. At the June 5, 2003 meeting, the Planning Commission tabled action on the Zoning District to a special work session on June 25, 2003 and continued the public hearing to the July 10, 2003 Planning Commission meeting. At this work session, Planning Commission and City Staff reviewed the proposed language and discussed areas within the text that should modified. The attached Town Center Zoning District ordinance incorporates the changes discussed on July 25, 2003. Staff has also included an exhibit showing the proposed locations for the Town Center sub-districts. Staft Recommendation: Staff would recommend that the Planning Commission review the latest draft ordinance to make sure all of the concerns raised previously have been addressed. After that review, Staff recommends that Planning Commission recommends to the City Council that the Town Center Zoning District ordinance should be adopted with any changes as directed by the Planning Commission. Commission Action: Motion to recommend that the City Council adopt' the ordinance creating the Town Center Zoning District subject to any changes, corrections, additions, or deletions made bY the Planning Commission.
