Subdivision 1. Exceptions. Requirements of this ordinance may be <br />waived by the City for a project in which at least 75% of the land has already received a <br />permit(s) initiating clearing or grading activities prior to the effective date of this ordinance. <br /> <br />a. The provisions of this ordinance are not intended to prohibit agriculture, <br /> silviculture, horticulture, or nursery operations within the City. <br /> <br /> The provisions of this ordinance are intended to prevent the spread of disease <br /> or infestation of trees within the City. Authorization may be obtained to <br /> remove certain trees to prevent the transmission of disease or infestation and <br />· to alleviate potentially hazardous trees that may cause injury to persons or <br /> property. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. SUMMARY <br /> <br />The following official summary of Ordinance #03-__ has been approved by the City Council of <br />the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. <br /> <br />It is the intent and effect of Ordinance #03-__ to amend Ramsey City Code Chapter 9 (Zoning <br />and Subdivision of Land) to add a section to establish regulations and guidelines that will <br />address tree preservation standards. <br /> <br />SECTION'3. EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />The effective date of this ordinance is thirty (30) days after its passage and publication, subject to <br />City Charter Section 5.07. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Ramsey.
