Code requirements for continuation of streets 'to plat boundaries. She noted the additional <br />property needed to connect Rabbit Street to Nutria Street is outside of the developer's control and <br />should not hold up his platting application. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt closed the regular portion of the Board of Adjustments meeting at 7:22 p.m. in <br />order to call the public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Kelly Thomas, 8433 168th Lane, indicated she understands the City needs to do this for their Codes, <br />but asked if they would do it for a developer that was not from the city. She indicated this decision <br />will affect her, and she will have headlights shining straight into her home. She bought her home <br />on a dead-end purposely. She noted there are kids riding their bikes through there, and it is a blind <br />intersection. She stated if the Board asked people in the subdivision if they wanted this, the answer <br />would be no. She did not buy and build her home to have traffic running past it. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt stated at this point, they are not connecting the road. <br /> <br />Ms. Thomas indicated she was told they would be connecting it. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald stated they are working with the City Attorney and City Engineer to find a <br />way to connect Nutria Street to Rabbit Street. <br /> <br />Mr. Thomas asked what she could do to prevent it. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt advised her to bring this subject up again at the Preliminary Plat hearing that will <br />be held following the Board of Adjustment meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Board Member Johnson, seconded by Chairperson Nixt to close the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Board Members Johnson, Brauer, Shepherd, <br />Van Scoy and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Board Member Reeves. <br /> <br />The public hearing was closed at 7:27 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Board Member Johnson, seconded by Chairperson Nixt, to adopt Resolution #03-06-134 <br />adopting Finding of Fact #0648 relating to a request for a variance from Monarch Homes. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Board Members Johnson, Shepherd, Van Scoy <br />and Watson. Voting No: Board Member Brauer.
