He stated that he is in support of the proposed development and felt that they have done a good job at putting together a quality development. Flillary Gonsior, 5741 145th Court, Kamsey, expressed concern over the lack of the green space along the peninsula. She stated that currently they see a wooded area w/th wildlife and if they remove the trees they will see the dump. She explained that they moved into Ramsey because of the surroundings in the areas and they were told that they could not build on the site across form their property. She inquired if there would be a size limit placed on the house and if not she would recommend splitting the lot. She also inquired if the City will be. requiting that homeowners put in ~. lawn, because there are current residents that have lived in the City for three years and have done nothing 'with their yards. -She also did not agree that the development will have minimal traffic impact on the area. Robert Sjoberg, 5731 145~' Court, Kamsey, stated, that he had met with Mr. Black and appreciated the time he spent addressing the neighbors; concerns. He stated that he liked the overall concept of the development, including the senior housing. From the townhome standpoint he felt that Shade Tree Construction was a good developer. He explained that his concern with the development has to do with an area that should not be touched. He stated that every study that had been done regarding the development has been Paid for by the developer. Nothing has been done on an independent basis. Mr. Sjoberg stated that he would like to see a more independent study done on traffic as well as with the soil borings. He is opposed to dropping homes into a wetland area. Across from his house three lots are proposed and he does not think that the lots are large enough to accommodate a decent size house. He requested that an independent environmental study be done of the area. Jim Gilbertson, stated that everything.used to be rural and now everybody is moving out and everyone has to fight about everything. He questioned ~,here the City was going. Dan Schafer, 5809 142~a Avenue, Ramsey, stated that his concern has to do with the peninsula. He stated that he did not think k would be possible to save the trees as part of the development. There is not a lot of green space being proposed along the walking traili. He also inquired as to how much run-off is going to be lost into the pond because of the drainage-ponds that will be constructed. He expressed concern that the water level will drop in the existing wetlands. The other main concern he had with the development was the increase in traffic. He stated that there is already a lot of traffic along Dysprosium because it is the fastest route to Highway #10. ..~_ resident suggested that the number of lots on the peninsula be reduced to four and that the wetland lots should be a minimum of~A acre in size and be custom built lots with a minimum value requirement on those lots. 52 Planning Commission/June 5, 2001 Page 13 of 28 -35-
