Corlde's general impression was as to whether the volume of tra25c is reasonable on
Dysprosium Street considering the neighborhood that exists.

Mr. Corkle replied that Dysprosium is a collector roadway and an MSA road. If state aid funds
have been used to build the roadway thc City might be required to pay those funds back if they
removed the designation.

Commissioner Johnson inquired ff it would be fair to say that there is a high volume of traffic
along Dysprosium Street considering the neighborhood.

Mr. Corkle replied that the road does act as a collector: street, but did .acknowledge that there is a
lot of tra~c for the neighborhood that exists.

Commissioner Johnson inquired if it would be possible to prohibit right tums from CSAH #5 onto
Dysprosium Street.

City Engineer Jankowski noted that state aid would look at that restriction as not being favorable.

Commissioner Johnson stated that Dysprosium Street continues to be a significant problem and
maybe it is time that the City consider moving the MSA designation to another street in the City.

Commissioner Sweet stated that the project proposes 340 units, so to her it did not make sense
that there would only be 115 cars leaving the development.

-3t3-

Planning Commission/June 5, 2001
Page t4 of 28
