#8 Elmcrest Park Parking and Access Improvements

$215,000

The $215,000 proposed, would fund the construction of the parking areas associated with
the soccer fields. This would include concrete gutter for all park drives and parking areas.
The access to Uranium Street would be constructed as a rural section street, as would ]ts
future extension to T.H. #47.
The goat would be to have this improvement completed in time for fall soccer in 2003.
This timeline is predicated upon the two things. First the Park Commission will need to
complete the Master Plan for Elmcrest during the winter of 2002-2003 so that the siting
of the parking areas work with all aspects of the park layout. And secondly, the turf needs
to be of proven health in order to open the fields for organized use. The following is the

per item estimate;
· Grading
· Class 5 and bituminous for park drive [Uranium St to T.H. 47]
· Parking lot curbs and islands lest. S8 to $12 aft]
· Class 5 and bituminous for parking tot[si '
· Restoration and bare root trees for parking areas
· Contingency, engineering and staking
Total

$15,000'
$35,000
$28,000
$98,oo0
$20,000
$19,000
$215,000

#9 Alpine Playground and Interpretive Seating Cove

$80,000

This improvement would be sited South of the park's entrance in view of the Alpine
Addition across the street. It will be a recreation destination unto itself- as well as for
families there for other purposes.
The design would incorporate tiered perennial beds around the playstructure. The
irrigated landscaping would invite parents and users to sit in and among the foliage,
thereby providing relaxing, educational surroundings to supervise their child's play. One
theme to compliment the perennial plantings would the subject of lepidoptera [The study
of butterflies]. The playstructure itself could even carry this theme.

Alpine Park - Exposed Aggregate for Players Benches

$5,500

This project will result in a permanent solution to erosion associated with traffic around
the 8 players benches at the baseball fields. The concrete surface if exposed aggregate,
would be non-slip, would not show wear patterns, and would be high quality in
appearance.

# Turtle Nesting Site at Wetland #114P

$1,000

The majority of this habitat replacement project would be accommodated by in-house
labor. The DNR non-game wildlife program may be consulted for design issues.
