Ranger Unit <br />Obtaining High Goals Again This Fall <br /> <br />The Anoka County Park Rangers are seeking and obtaining <br />high goals again this fall. Park Rangers Cindy Higgins, <br />Terence Glommen-NIcCIoskey, }on Mathisen, and Suzanne <br />Seetey have made the commitment to further their skills as <br />Park Rangers through education and training opportunities. <br />The Park Rangers are working together to achieve the <br />Ranger Unit goals of providing for the public safety and <br />protection of the Park System's properties and natural <br />resources, as well as, enhancing the park users experience <br />through assistance, information, enforcement and <br />education. <br /> <br />Rangers Mathisen, Higgins, Seeley, and Glommen-McCloskey graduated <br />from the Anoka County Police and Sheriff's Rese,we Academy on October <br />2?. Also pictured center is Sqperintendent of Rangers, Klm Mortenson. <br /> <br />Another step towards reaching those goals was obtained <br />when Ranger Higgins, Ranger Glommen-HcCIoskey, <br />Ranger Mathisen~ and Ranger Seeley graduated from the <br />Anoka County Police and Sheriff's Reserve Academy on <br />October 27, 2002. The eight-week academy is put <br />together by local Law Enforcement agencies within Anoka <br />County. The training consists of the following topics: <br />Legal Issues, Radio Usage, Directed Patrol/Community <br />Oriented Policing, Use of Force, Occupational Safety, <br />Traffic Control, and Crime Scene Security. We are very <br />proud of the dedication and commitment these Park <br />Rangers have made to the Anoka County Parks <br />Department and to the Community. <br /> <br /> Tim Romanchuk <br /> Featured Employee <br /> <br />Tim RomanchUk has been a Parkkeeper with Anoka <br />County since March of 1978. He has been a dedicated <br />employee with expertise in a variety of areas. His favorite <br />part of the job is being outdoors in the natural settings <br />throughout the park system. <br /> <br />Anoka County is fortunate to have Tim Romanchuk <br />working in the Park Maintenance Unit. <br /> <br />Tim has been an Anoka County resident all of his life. Tim <br />grew up in Oak Grove and has raised his family there as <br />well. Brian and Summer are now grown and living in <br />wright county. Prior to working for the CounL-y Tim had <br />been a farm hand for many different farms and has been <br />driving a tractor for hire since he was nine years old. <br /> <br />When he isn't at work, Tim enjoys hunting and fishing. He <br />has practiced these hobbies in many different places. <br />Also, for eighteen years Tim worked at the County.Fair on <br />the crew setting up for the grandstand events. Not really <br />relaxing while off the job. <br /> <br />Anoka Counby is fortunate to have Tim Romanchuk <br />working in the Park Haintenance Unit providing enjoyable <br />parks and trails for all of the many park visitors. <br /> <br />88 Page 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
