City Engineer Olson replied that the project would not be advertised until the City receives an agreement fi-om the first cell tower user. Mayor Gamec stated that b.e would personally favor the equipment being placed on the mezzarfine. Councilmember Zimmerman stated that Cormexus donated the land to the City and they are opposed to the equipment being placed outside the tower so the City has to respect that. b/fr. Littlejohn replied that it is not a question of inside versus outside, but a question of placing the equipment up in the air. If they could build the room inside they could build a shelf area for other carrier's equipment. Director of Public Works. Kapler suggested that the Council say no .to the 'equipment being placed on the outside of the tower and direct Public Works to consider the idea of locating the equipment on the ground floor. Mr. Littlejohn requested that the Council table their request until that consideration b.a.s been made. Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilrnember Zimmerman, to table action. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Zimmerman, Anderson, and Kurak. Voting No: None. Case #7: Request for a Conditional Use Permit to Exceed Accessory Structure Space Restrictions; Case of Charles Lind Community Development Director Frolik stated that the City of Ramsey has been working with Charles Lind for the past couple of years in regard to off-street parking violations on his property, located at 14331 Armstrong Boulevard NW. ~vfr. Lind currently stores three semi-tractors, several vehicles, two boats, and a bobcat outdoors on the property. The existing attached garage contains several collector cars that are in various states of restoration and does not provide enough space to store any more vehicles or equipment indoors. In an attempt to remedy all code enforcement issues on a permanent basis, the City received an application from Charles Lind for a conditional use permit to exceed the total amount of accessory building space allowed on his property. The subject property is zoned Ri-R Single Family Rural Residential and adjacent properties to the north, south, east and west are also zoned R1-R. Mr. Lind's property is also located in close proximity to a B-3 Highway Business District that is currently occupied by a furniture store, auto dealer, Monarch Homes and Canvas Craft. The parcel is 2.5 acres in size and City Code allows a maximum of 2,064 square feet of accessory structure space. Charles Lind has a 1,792 (28' x 64') square foot attached garage.
