Mr. Close stated the park system would allow the wetlands from the north and w est t o drain <br />down through the development. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos clarified the idea is not to drain the wetlands but to control <br />flooding in the area by providing overflow outlets. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rolfe asked if there would be a way' of controlling the amount of water going <br />through there. <br /> <br />Mr. Close stated there would not be. Mr. Close discussed the green edge referring to the <br />perimeter of the site. He stated the center is porous and a part of the things around it. Mr. Close <br />stated Signature landscapes could also be identification signs at entrances. <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds asked how the roadways traveled through the center.' <br /> <br />Mr, Jacobso'n stated there were thre'e intersections into and out of the site. He.stated the main <br />roads would be bridged and there is still a question if the bikes could use their own path. or would <br />need to have them use the roadways. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rolfe asked on the greenway, wOuld there be one waY or two way roadS.. <br /> <br />Mr. Close stated they were looking at one way roads with parking on the outside. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated connection to Lake Itasca~ extending a trail corridor <br />connecting to the large park and open space system and the people in that Vicinity would be able <br />to access the town center. · <br /> <br />Mr. Jacobson stated there would be some legitimate connection provided to Lake Itasca in the. <br />future. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities SuperviSor Boos mentioned that the Greenway would al's° allow for the <br />movement of suburban wildlife. <br /> <br />Mr. Jacobson stated they are meeting with City staff every two weeks and have a refined Plan. He <br />stated part of the process will be to come back to the Parks Commission with updates and input~ <br /> <br />Mr. Jacobson stated in connection to the railroad crossing, they wilt need to get permission from <br />the Raikoad to cross and in the mean time the pedestrians will.cross at Ramsey Boulevard. <br /> <br />Case #2: Master Trail Plan Update . . . .. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained the purpose of thiscase is to reView and comment on <br />an element of the draft Master Trail Plan. He distributed a draft vision of the vision and <br />discussed the information with the Commission. Parks/Utilities SupervisOr Boos stated the plan <br />needs to be do-able and viable.
