Commissioner Rolfe stated he thought it was important to have trail systems all around the
development. He asked if they have had any other development go in that is that large and has
'this amount of trails in it so should the developer get a credit because they have a large amount of
trails needed to go in around the development.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos indicated he did not think there was another development that
has had this amount of trails needed to go in.

Commissioner Rolfe commented that he thought they should look at this before they make a
decision.

Chairperson Johns indicated that if this went to single-family homes, she would still want the
trails.

Commissioner Rolfe commented that he did not know if they should give them a credit-because
the next developer may Come in and want the same.because theY haVe a. large amount of trails
around their development also.

Commissioner Shryock stated she thought it was the cost of doing business.

Case #3: Ramsey Environmental Expo.

Chairperson Johns explained there has been discussion on planning for the Expo. Most i'ecently
this topic was reviewed with the Environmental Policy Task Force. The purpose of this case is
for Commissioners to discuss their interest in participating in the Environmental Expo.
Chairperson Johns stated she talked to Joe McDilda from the Environmental Policy Task Force
and they definitely wanted to join up with the Commission at the Expo.

Commissioner Rolfe noted that next Thursday there is a task force meeting and they will be
discussing what will be done at the Expo in more detail.

Chairperson: Johns asked if they had assigned booth times at the last meeting.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos indicated both Commissioners Ostrum and LaMere called and
would like to be signed in early but they thought assigned times would not be so criticalbecause
if the Environmental Task Force would be there they could share the space.

Commissioner Rolfe commented that he planned on being at the Expo.

Chairperson Johns asked if the Commission' knew what they wanted to have there.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated they talked about Elmcrest Concept Plan, the CIP plan,
Master Trail Plan, Outdoor meeting schedule, aerial photos, draf~ brochure, and Park and Trail
Plan map

Park and Recreation Commission/April 10, 2003
Page 5 of 8
