PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY ' <br /> STATE OF, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The kamsey Park and Recreation Commission conducted a Work Session on April <br />2003, at Kamsey Fire Station #2, 15050 Armstrong Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Commission Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Jill Johns <br />Commissioner Jon Olds <br />Commissioner Michael Rolfe <br />Commissioner Melody Shryock <br />Commissioner Mark Lehman <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner Tom LaMere <br />Commissioner Steve Ostrum <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos <br /> <br />10, <br /> <br />'CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns called the Park and Recreation Commission Work Session meeting to <br />order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Elmcrest Park <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos indicated the Work Session involved Steven Mastey, <br />from Savannah Designs. He explained Mr. Mastey knew theprocess on how they got to <br />this point in the park design. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos noted the goal had been to get parking in the area for the <br />soccer field. They want to get the blacktop parking lots constructed no later than this fall. <br />Questions were raised why access was not routed north and one ansWer .was the cost but a <br />rebuttal was if the access was to the north the potential for economic development <br />benefits may off set this. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained where they are at with the park t° this point: <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds commented that if the access went to 167th, the plan Would be more <br />appropriate because the traffic would not be so concentrated. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission Work Session/April 10, 2003 <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
