Commissioner Rolfe indicated that they should b e ninety percent d one with t he report
based on the billings coming in. He commented that the Commission should critique this
and give their changes to Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos to bring to the engineers so they
can either move on this or get out.

Commissioner Olds noted that by looking at the report, it was not complete.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained LHB Engineers recognized that the report was
not complete in a letter that was not included in the meeting packet.

Motion by Ostrum, Seconded by Shryock, authorizing staff to advise LHB Engineers that
the Commission is unhappy with what was presented to them and expected something
more substantial by this time and that they would expect a progress report by the April
10, 2003 meeting, section by section to review.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Ostrum, Shryock,
Lehman, LaMere, Olds, and Rolfe. Voting No: None. Absent: None.

Environmental Fair

Commissioner Rolfe asked if they were going to try to do something for the
environmental fair this year.

Commissioner Ostrum commented that he had been disappointed by the number of
people who have come and received information from them in the past at the fair. He
wondered what they were there to accomplish.

Commissioner Rolfe thought it would be nice to have a map of the parks in Ramsey and
information on the parks, even if they do not have a booth.

Commissioner Shryock stated there should be a map highlighting the trails and how to get
to places without driving.

Commissioner R olfe noted that they needed some input from the Environmental Task
Force.

Parks/utilities Supervisor Boos explained-he would need help with this. He commented
that they should see if they could share a booth with the environmental agency.

Commissioner Rolfe explained it would be nice for them to present what they are
working on and they would need someone to head that up from each group. He stated
they needed to have a visionary mission statement.

Parks/utilities Supervisor Boos stated indicated that it was a good point.

Park and Recreation Commission/March 13, 2003
page 7 of 8
