1995 Spring Recycling Day <br /> <br />City Staff is currently planning the 1995 Spring Recycling Day which is scheduled for Saturday, <br />May 6, 1995. This event will be similar to last year's event and similar materials will be accepted. <br />Staff involved are not directly compensated, they received hour-for-hour time off in the same pay <br />period. <br /> <br />The event will be held at Central park from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Final details as to specific <br />items accepted and prices for materials accepted for a fee were not available at the time this case <br />was prepared, although it is anticipated prices will be similar to last year. A complete detail of <br />items accepted and related fees where applicable, will be published in the next Ramsey Resident. <br /> <br />Annual Pet Clinic <br /> <br />Each spring, the City of Ramsey holds a pet clinic whereby residents may bring their dogs and cats <br />in for rabies and distemper vaccinations at a reduced rate. In 1994 a total of 723 cat and dog <br />distemper and rabies vaccinations were administered and the City received $1.00 - $2.00 per shot <br />for a total of $1,108.00. This charge is added to each of the vaccinations to cover the cost of staff <br />time. It is necessary that at least two staff people are present to handle set-up and clean-up. While <br />these individuals are not directly compensated, they receive hour-for-hour time off in the same pay <br />period. <br /> <br />The 1995 Annual Pet Clinic has been scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 1995, from 8:00 a.m. to <br />1:00 p.m.. Vaccinations will be administered at Park Center at Central Park. The following shots <br />will be offered: <br /> <br />Rabies (canine and feline) <br />DHLP-P (canine) <br /> [Distemper; Hepatitis; Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza; Parvovirus] <br />Pan RC-C-P (feline) <br /> [Rhinitracheitis; Calici; Panleukopenia; Pneumonitis; Chlamydia] <br /> <br />Requests for bids have been distributed to local veterinarians to participate in the 1995 Annual Pet <br />Clinic. The award will go the the veterinarian that can provide the service required in the cost <br />effective manner. The prices associated with the appropriate bidder will be published in the next <br />issue of the Ramsey Resident which should be distributed the last week of April, prior to the Pet <br />Clinic on Saturday, April 29, 1995. <br /> <br />Environmental Ex_tx) <br /> <br />This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Annual Tree Sale and the 7th anniversary of the <br />Environmental Expo which is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 1995 at the Ramsey Elementary <br />School from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the tree sale beginning at 7:00 a.m. EXPO '95 will <br />celebrate the opening of the Ramsey School's Environmental Learning Area (ELA). <br /> <br />Activities will include seedling give away (one per family member), the grand opening ceremony <br />for the ELA, tree plantings, demonstrations of pruning, grafting and planting techniques, and <br />entertainment. The exhibit area will include everything from science projects to garden clubs and <br />tours of the trail given by students. <br /> <br />Funding for the Environmental Expo was budgeted at $955 for the 1995 Expo. Programs and <br />events will be scheduled within these budgetary guidelines. Staff involved are not directly <br />compensated, they received hour-for-hour time off in the same pay period. <br /> <br /> <br />
