CASE <br /> <br />RECEIVE BIDS AND AWARD CONTRACT FOR CEMENT FLOOR WORK AT <br />14100 JASPAR STREET N.W. (PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY) <br /> By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On August 31, 1995, the City of Ramsey purchased the property located at 14100 Jaspar Street <br />N.W. for the purpose of a public works facility. The Finance Committee approved the attached <br />$280,000 budget on September 12, 1995, for the remodeling of the cement structure and <br />authorized staff to proceed with solicitation of bids and quotes for the various items relating to the <br />remodeling. <br /> <br />This work includes the removal and installation of the cement floor and floor drains where <br />necessary. The budget originally anticipated for the floor work was around $18,000. It is <br />expected, after receiving written quotes, that the work will be more costly than originally <br />anticipated and over $25,000; therefore sealed bids were solicited as required by Minnesota bid <br />laws. <br /> <br />Bids for the cement floor work will be opened on Friday, April 21, 1995, at City Hall. Based on <br />the bids received, a recommendation will be provided to the Finance Committee at the meeting on <br />Tuesday, April 25, 1995. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Committee approval of the contract award for cement floor work at the Public Works Facility <br />located at 14100 Jaspar Street N.W. [Recommendation to he made the evening of the Finance <br />Committee Meeting]. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend Council approve and adopt Resolution Receiving Bids and Awarding <br />Contract for Floor Work at 14100 Jaspar Street N.W.
