Steve and Lisa Sipe
16401Ramsey Blvd.
Ramsey, MN 55308

To WhOm it may concern,
This is in regards to the ongoing ordinance discussions going on at city
hall.
.The city has, for too many years, disregarded the current ordinance to
the extent that Ramsey is well known as a community that is welcoming to small
business owmers. Our own experience was such that when we were looking to
build a home, we were continually directed to Ramsey because we have a dump
truck.~ In addition, when we proceeded to build our pole barn, noone ever told us
about.any ordinance pertaining to our truck. Because of this it is our
contention that everyone currently living in Ramsey, should be considered
"grandfathered".
Furthermore, a new ordinance needs to be written to deal with such matters
in th~ future. It is our belief that people who live in rural Ramsey should be
allowed to bring their vehicles and equipment home. Provided they do not make
for an eyesore and they are not actually conducting business on their property.
Most of us are just small business owners who are trying to provide a
home, clothes, and food for our families. The presence of our vehicles in our
pole ~uildings, or parked neatly in an out of the way spot, should not bother
anyon$, Particulary since most of us have to work during the day and our
vehicles aren't even there, except at night.
It is our land, we are the ones who pay the taxes, why is it a problem to
have a section of one community where people like us can provide for our
families. If people have a problem with working men and women bringing their
vehlc%es home at night, there are many communities around where they can move
and have all the covenants and agreements they want. But, please, don't put
anymore burdensome rules and regulations on people like us. Most of us are far
from wealthy and getting conditional use permits, or having to house our
vehicles elsewhere would put an undue burden on our already stretched budgets.
Thank you for your time and for promptly resolving this matter.

Sincerely,

eSteve and L~u p
