COMMISSION BUSINESS

Case #1:

Interview Applicants for Commission Vacancy.

The Economic Development Commission (EDC) has one vacancy due to the resignation of Mr.
Marquart. The City has received letters of application from two residents. Both residents have been
invited to attend the meeting. Ms. Judy Roff is in attendance this evening; Mr. James Rohrer was unable
to attend due to a prior commitment.

Chairperson Wagner welcomed Ms. Roffto the EDC and explained the requirements, meeting times and
days, and what the EDC is involved in during the year, such as the Annual Business Expo and Business
Appreciation Day. These events generally require additional time and meetings.

The EDC then proceeded to interview Ms. Roff and she, in turn, asked the Commission members about
their ideas for the future of Ramsey.

Chairperson Wagner thanked Ms. Roff for her interest and informed her that the other applicant would be
interviewed at the EDC meeting of January 4, 1996. Following that interview, a decision would be
made. The EDC invited Ms. Roff to stay for the rest of the meeting and attend the January meeting in
the event additional questions would come to the attention of the Commission members. Ms. Roff
thanked the Commission for their time and indicated that she would be happy to stay and observe the rest
of the meeting.

Case #2:

Ramsey Business Newsletter.

EDC members received a copy of the first edition of the Ramsey Business Newsletter.

Commissioner McGhee submitted some suggestions prior to the meeting because of his absence from the
meeting that are attached to these minutes as Exhibit A.

Commissioner Kent suggested that in the next issue of the newsletter, we include information about the
upcoming 1996 Business Expo.

Chairperson Wagner inquired as to the course of events the development and publishing of the newsletter
will follow.

Mr. Gromberg responded that it would be his intent to provide the EDC with a draft of the actual
newsletter for their review and not just a list of articles to be featured. The final editing would be
completed by the City Administrator and himself prior to publishing.

Commissioner Nelson suggested more pictures be added to the newsletter including a photograph of the
Mayor alongside his "Mayoral Minute" article. In future issues, the pictures from last year's Expo
should be published to help promote the involvement of businesses in the event.

Chairperson Wagner suggested that future issues could include a business area clean-up day, business
highlights, or recent achievements and the informational articles from the Fire Department.

Economic Development Commission/December 7, 1995
Page 2 of 5
