Case #4: Authorize Purchase of 2.1/2 Ton Truck Cab and Chassis and <br /> Advertise for Bids for Dump Box, Snow Plow, Wing and <br /> Sander <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that included in the 1995 Adopted General Fund Budget is <br />$75,000 for the purchase of a 2-1/2 ton truck, equipped with dump box, snow plow, wing <br />and sander. This purchase is a replacement for Unit #607, a 1982, 2-1/2 ton Ford with <br />approximately 45,000 miles. Ms. Hart stated, as a note, Mr. Mevissen had told her that the <br />price for this track is only about $500 more than what was paid for #607 in 1982. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to recommend Council <br />adopt the resolution authorizing purchase of the 2-1/2 ton truck cab and chassis and <br />authorizing advertising for bids for the dump box, snow plow, wing and sander. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Peterson and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer. <br /> <br />Case #5: Authorize Purchase of 3/4 Ton 4 x 4 Truck with Snow Plow <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that included in the 1995 Adopted Enterprise Funds Budget is <br />$22,000 for the purchase of a 3/4 ton track equipped with a snow plow. The purchase is <br />for replacement of Unit g614, a 1985 Chevrolet utility truck with approximately 82,000 <br />miles. This vehicle was purchased used by the City in 1988, for $10,090.45, and is fully <br />depreciated. She explained that the bid from Crysteel met the City's specs with regard to <br />the snow plow and it will cost an additional $350 for installation of the plow. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson inquired about the surplus equipment. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that the tracks would probably be kept for the summer. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Mayor Hardin to recommend <br />Council adopt the resolution authorizing purchase of a 3/4 ton 4 x 4 truck snow plow. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beahen and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Beyer. <br /> <br />Case #6: Authorize Advertisement for Bids for One Commercial Turf <br /> Mower with 12' Cutting Swath <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that included in the 1995 Adopted General Fund Budget is <br />$26,500 for the purchase of a commercial turf mower with a 12' cutting swath. This <br />purchase is a new addition to the mowing fleet and is anticipated to provide enhanced <br />maintenance flexibility and extend the life of the existing 6' mowers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson inquired if there is a trailer available for hauling this mower to <br />which Mr. Boos replied yes. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to recommend Council <br />adopt the resolution authorizing advertisement of bids for one commercial tuff mower. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Peterson and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None.
