Chief Kapler responded that Bruce Bacon is really good about notifying the Fire Department and <br />that he's very particular about what's being burned. Communication delay is definitely not an <br />issue. <br /> <br />Boardmember Weiss inquired about citizens being able to get a hold of Chief Kapler for a permit. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder responded that Mr. Bacon also has a floating schedule; therefore, the permits are <br />processed by clerical and then Bruce is called in. <br /> <br />Chief Kapler felt this would be another great opportunity to get out into the public and stress f'u'e <br />safety better;, it will help our cause. <br /> <br />Motion by Boardmember Lewandowski and seconded by Boardmember McLaughlin to make it <br />known that the Fire Depamnent is interested in being considered for the burn permit process. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Pearson, Boardmembers Lewandowski, McLaughlin <br />and Weiss. Voting No: None. Abstain: Councilmember Beyer. Absent: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br />Case #5: Year-End Update <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler handed out a review of the Fire Department for the year 1995 and summarized it. <br />Such handout is included as Exhibit A in the minutes. <br /> <br />A discussion ensued pertaining to the timeline for planning the new facility and also for more <br />equipment requests. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Boardmember McLaughlin and seconded by Boardmember Weiss to adjourn the <br />meeting of the Fire Board. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Pearson, Councilmember Beyer, Boardmembers <br />McLaughlin, Weiss and Lewandowski. Voting No: None.
