Boardwalks at cost not-to-exceed $85,561 for the Lake Itasca boardwalk and $20,801 for Fox <br />Park. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />REVIEW AND RECOMMEND PARK PLAN AND BUDGET FOR <br />FOX PARK <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos presented storyboards with the revised draft plan for Fox Park. <br />After review and discussion, the Commission revised the plan again by moving the tot lot area <br />away from the road and adjacent to the playground area for the older children.to make it easier for <br />parents to monitor children of different ages. A clear separation between the two playground <br />areas, parking, and open water was favored. Commissioner Cook suggested indigenous plants be <br />used as the separation medium. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Cook and seconded by Commissioner Osbom to approve the amended <br />Fox Park draft plan titled "Phased Playground" with enhancement of play equipment line item if <br />possible with the monies budgeted within the 1995 C.I.P. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Hetland, Commissioners Asfahl, Cook, Johns, Henn, <br />Osborn and Skinner. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: INSPECT SOLSTICE PARK <br /> <br />A walking tour of Solstice Park was conducted after adjournment of the meeting. <br /> <br />Case #6: OPTION BY RESIDENT TO PURCHASE PARK LAND <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder was approached by a resident who wishes to purchase 2.5 acres park land to build a <br />house in Countryside Estates. He indicated that if the Commission agreed to the sale, the land <br />would be advertised for sale to the general public at the going rate. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued and it was the consensus of the Commission that park land will not be sold to <br />the public. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br />None. <br /> <br />Next Park and Recreation Commission Meeting <br /> <br />The next regular Park and Recreation Commission meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, <br />June 8, 1995 at Central Park in or near the Park Center building. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Hetland and seconded by Commissioner Cook to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br /> Park and Recreation Commission/May 11, 1995 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
