NOTE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br />Consensus of the Commission to note the following: <br /> <br />Planning Commission public hearing and regular meeting minutes dated June 6, 1995. <br />Planning Commission special meeting minutes dated June 21, 1995. <br /> <br />Planning Commission public hearing and regular meeting minutes dated July 5, 1995. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />FILLING THE VACANCY ON THE PARK AND RECREATION <br />COMMISSION <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos reviewed the resignation of Commissioner Teresa Henn and <br />explained that in order to expedite filling the vacancy, Mr. Tom LaMere's letter of application and <br />resume were provided to the City Council for consideration at their regular meeting on Tuesday, <br />August 8, 1995. City Council was asked to appoint Mr. LaMere to the Park and Recreation <br />Commission for a term to expire on October 31, 1996, pending ratification by the Park and <br />Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. LaMere introduced himself to the Commission and offered an overview of his education, work <br />history and community involvement. <br /> <br />Mr. LaMere was given different scenarios by the Commissioners (ie: conflict of interest, dealing <br />with difficult developers and residents) and asked to explain the course of action he would pursue <br />in the given situations. <br /> <br />Motion by Co-Chairperson Cook and seconded by Commissioner Asfahl to approve the <br />appointment by the City Council of Mr. Tome LaMere to the Park and Recreation Commission for <br />a term to expire on October 31, 1996. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Co-Chairperson Cook, Commissioners Asfahl, Johns and Skinner. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Hetland and Commissioner Osbom. <br /> <br />Case #2: INTRODUCE CONCEPT PLAN FOR CENTRAL PARK'S "EAST 35 <br /> ACRES" <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos briefed the Commission on the City's desires for acquisition of the <br />35 acres east of the existing 45 acre Central Park. <br /> <br />To aid in the examination of the value of the land to the City and to provide evidence to Federal <br />Cartridge, owners of the property, of the City's intentions, intern Cory Tauer drafted a concept <br />plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Tauer presented the concept plan with detailed information as to the positioning of fields, <br />possible trees, shrubs and vegetation for plantings, walkways, a monument, and names for the <br />various areas. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/August 10, 1995 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
