He felt the condition of the
road could be dealt with by using oil and pea rock.

Mr. Jankowski stated that this road is 15 years old and has not been done. He explained
there are some alligatoring cracks and an overlay will add strength to the road.

Mr. Volna stated as long as they had 60 days to petition against, he was planning to discuss
this with his neighbors.

Mr. Jankowsld offered to meet with Mr. Volna and his neighbors to look over the street.

Jay Nordquist, 8855 - 176th Avenue N.W., Ramsey inquired how much more ruin would
happen to the road if it were not overlayed.

Mr. Jankowski stated that without maintenance, it may become necessary to reconstruct the
entire road. He explained how costly reconstruction could be.

Mr. Nordquist inquired who actually looked at the road to determine what had to be done.

Mr. Jankowski stated he inspected it as well as the Street Supervisor and the City's intern.
All who inspected it came up with the conclusion that it was below the line for just sealing
it.

Beth Mitchell, 8500 - 176th .Lane N.W., Ramsey, stated she didn't feel the street needed
overlay and wanted to know what her options are. She also inquired how long a road
should last.

Mr. Jankowsld replied that with proper maintenance, a road should last about 25 years.

City Council/February 14, 1995
