Ms. Mitchell inquired what proper maintenance is which Mr. Jankowski explained.

Ms. Mitchell replied that this road is past the point for proper maintenance and questioned
why they should have to pay for mismanagement. She added that this road doesn't get
much traffic.

Mr. Jankowski stated that the road does get a fair amount of traffic and added that the age
of the road certainly does make a difference.

Ms. Mitchell proposed that the overlay be postponed and inquired what the difference
would be if it were done now or three to four years from now. She suggested if the
overlay could wait a couple of years, some of the people will probably have moved out of
the neighborhood then and it becomes someone else's problem.

Mr. Jankowski stated that if the maintenance is postponed, the City will incur the added
cost of patching potholes.

Ms. Mitchell inquired what she can do to stop this improvement project.

Mr. Jankowski summarized the petition process and added that he would be willing to meet
with her and neighbors to discuss this issue. He stated that proper maintenance is prudent.

Scott Simpson, 15952 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, inquired who initiated the
petition for the improvement project to which Mr. Jankowski replied that the City initiated
lt.

Mr. Simpson then stated he would like to meet with Mr. Jankowski and walk the street.

Paul Bachler, 8500 - 176th Lane N.W., Ramsey, expressed an interest in seeing a copy of
the report regarding the rating of streets.

Greg Ash, 8713 - 175th Lane N.W., Ramsey, inquired about petitioning against a project
and the portion that the City pays.

Mr. Jankowski then explained that process.

Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to close the
public hearing.

Motion carded.
