Included in this district is the AEC property as well as the north
half of the Altron property adjacent to that. It's a 140 acre development area and what's
intended is an Economic Development District which is a shorter tenure district - eight
years. The first increment would be 1998. He explained the budget and the fact that it's
conservative. He explained that this Anoka Electric project would not have gone forward
but for tax increment assistance. The City will be using tax increment proceeds to construct
the sewer and water lines as well as Sunwood Drive. The future water tower and any wells
in the area will also be funded with tax increments.

Mayor Hardin closed the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 7:16 p.m. in order
to conduct the public hearing.

Public Hearim,

Mayor Hardin called the public hearing to order at 7:16 p.m.

None.

Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to close the
public hearing.

Motion carded.
