2) Bury & Carlson Hours of Operation

City Administrator Schroeder stated that Bury & Carlson has asked about the City
considering the elimination of the sweeping and hours of operation requirements in their
Conditional Use Permit. Mr. Schroeder could not recollect the sweeping requirement
placed on any other industrial use. He listed the hours of operation for other businesses in
the neighborhood and it appears that those listed for Bury & Carlson are the most
restrictive. They are interested in pursuing an amendment to the CUP but are looking for
Council direction. They wish to insure that they don't waste Council's time and theirs if
Council doesn't feel this request for flexibility is appropriate.

Councilmember Beyer felt Bury & Carlson had a valid point and that they should proceed
with the CUP process, as did Councilmember Beahen.

Councilmember Peterson agreed, too, and commented that if there came a time when the
City could prove that rocks were left in the street by their operation, at that time we would
ask them to sweep the street.

Mr. Schroeder offered to contact Bury & Carlson to let them know that Council felt their
request was reasonable.

3) Meetings

City Administrator Schroeder disseminated invitations to Council to the Governor's
Workforee Development Council breakfast, to an informational luncheon from the First
National Bank of Elk River to discuss municipality investing, and to a public forum from
the State of Minnesota, Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation.

4) Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting

City Administrator Schroeder informed Council that the Chamber of Commerce annual
meeting will be held at Greenhaven. More information will be forthcoming.

5) League of Minnesota Cities Regional Meeting

City Administrator Schroeder reported that the LMC regional meeting will be held in Anoka
at Greenhaven on this Thursday.

6) Labor Management Committee Meeting

City Administrator Schroeder reminded Council that the Labor Management Committee
meeting is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, September 27) at 4:00 p.m.

7) Water Flushing

City Administrator Schroeder stated that the watermain flushing will begin on October 2
and will run through the 9th.

City Council/September 26, 1995
