elect a Chairperson to continue heading the planning of the event; and 2) to start making formal
contact with the Lion's as to their willingness to combine these two events. In the past, the Lion's
have indicated an interest in doing something like this and hopefully they will be interested and will
enter into a formal agreement.

Commissioner Stafki stated he has been actively pursued by the Lion's Club to join their
organization, and he believes that they still are in agreement with the combination of the two
events.

Motion by Commissioner Nelson and seconded by Commissioner McGhee to nominate Mary
Ullen as Chairperson of the 1995 Ramsey Business Expo and Allen Stafki as Vice-Chairperson of
this event.

Further discussion: Chairperson Wagner suggested sending a letter to Jerry Konen, President of
the Ramsey Lion's Club, requesting he meet with Commissioner Ullen and/or Commissioner
Stafki in the near future, to begin formalizing these plans. Mr. Gromberg stated he would take
care of that.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Wagner, Commissioners Kent, Nelson, Stafki,
Marquart and McGhee. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Ullen.

Case #5 Advertising in the Twin Cities Business Monthly

Economic Development Coordinator informed the Commission that the City of Ramsey has
received information concerning advertising in the Twin Cities Business Monthly magazine.
Currently, the City owns 40 to 50 acres of commercial/industrial property that is available for
development. The City needs to review ways of advertising the availability of this property. One
suggestion is to place an ad in the Twin Cities Business Monthly magazine. However, that does not necessitate that it is the best magazine for the City to advertise
in.

Commissioner Kent suggested that, at the next EDC meeting, the Commissioners come back with
ideas for developing a marketing plan for the property that the City owns and criteria to judge the
different mediums of advertising the availability of this land.

Consensus of the Commission was to bring marketing plan ideas to the next EDC meeting. These
ideas will be discussed and the Commission will determine what should be recommended to City
Council.

Economic Development Commission / December 1, 1994
Page 4 of 5
