Day cam will bc provided for parents while they arc shopping, <br />etc. Purchasing T-shirts commemorating Arbor events and the City's 20th Anniversary <br />were discussed. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Committee was to not purchase T-shirts. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Committee was that Staff proceed with the 1994 Tree Sale and <br />Environmental Expo planning. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to <br />recommend City Council adopt the resolution proclaiming April 30, 1994 as "Arbor Day" <br />and the month of May 1994 as "Arbor Month". <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, <br />Hardin and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #3: Report on Lawful Gambling Special Revenue Fund Status <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the Lawful Gambling Special Revenue Fund balance on <br />December 31, 1993, was $39,823.76 which is almost double the balance for 1992. The <br />large increase is due to several of the organizations having a full year of activity as well as <br />the addition of new organizations operating lawful gambling sites in the City. She <br />suggested the fund balance has to be up in the $60,000 range to keep the interest around <br />$3,000. Ms. Hart stated that she will bring some recommended lawful gambling ordinance <br />revisions and another report on lawful gambling back to the Finance Committee on April <br />26, 1994. <br /> <br />Case #4: Approval of Premise Permit for Climb Theatre to Operate a <br /> Lawful Gambling Operation at Lally's on 10 <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that CLIMB Theatre has requested a lawful gambling premise <br />permit for pull-mbs and raffles at Lally's on 10. The organization has met and continues to <br />meet all requirements currently outlined in the City's ordinance on lawful gambling. <br />CLIMB Theatre will contribute dollars directly into the community, over and above the <br />educational programs currently in the schools if necessary, to meet the 75 percent of <br />expenditures requirement as it currently exists. Ms. Hart explained that they are also <br />requesting a waiver of the 30-day waiting period. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to <br />recommend Council adopt the resolution approving the premise permit for CLIMB Theatre <br />and waiving the 30-day waiting period. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Abstain: Mayor Gilbertson. <br /> <br />Case #$: <br /> <br />Approval to Have MASYS Diagnose Operational Problems with <br />the Police TI990 Computer System <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the Police Department has had some problems with their <br />TI990 system locking up. It is thought that the problems are being caused by the TI931 <br />terminals and keyboards.
