We are looking at some kind of retirement for the fire
fighters here.

Councilmember Beyer inquired when payroll is figured for the fire fighters, is there a
contribution for PERA.

Ms. Hart stated there was not.

Councilmember Beyer felt that the City should be paying toward some retir6ment for the
fke fighters.

Chief Griffin stated that it doesn't have to be a guarantee that it's there every year, it would
be nice to see a dollar amount, but there does not have to be a guarantee. We met with the
fire fighters and it was brought up. I want to see something. We do not have to do it the
same as Anoka, etc., it just would be nice to see something from the City.

Councilmember Beyer felt that was fair.

Finance/Budget Committee/August 8, 1994
