BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Introduce Jon McLaughlin to Fire Board <br /> <br />Jon McLaughlin was introduced to and welcomed by the Fire Board. <br /> <br />Case g2: Ending the One-Year Probationary Period for Paul Minear, <br /> Chris Weiss and Kelly Hicks <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated that Fire Fighters Paul Minear, Chris Weiss and Kelly Hicks have <br />completed all the necessary requirements to end their one year of limited duty fire fighter <br />status on the Ramsey Fire Department. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Boardmember Williams to recommend <br />that City Council approve ending the probationary period for Fire Fighters Paul Minear, <br />Chris Weiss and Kelly Hicks. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmember Beyer, Boardmembers <br />Williams, Pearson, McLaughlin and Simpson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #3: Review Recommendations of the Interviewing Panel <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated that the case title on the agenda indicated there would be a <br />recommendation for two Volunteer Fire Fighters; however, Kelly Dribnak has decided to <br />not pursue fire service with the City of Ramsey. Dave Lewandowski has passed his <br />physical and is ready to come into the Department. He stated he would like Mr. <br />Lewandowski to begin training on Wednesday, May 25, 1994, and asked for a <br />recommendation for Council to accept the applicant. <br /> <br />Motion by Boardmember Pearson and seconded by Mayor Gilbertson to approve the <br />recommendation of the interviewing panel to accept David Lewandowski as a Volunteer <br />Fire Fighter and to forward that recommendation to the City Council at their May 24, 1994 <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmember Beyer, Boardmember <br />Pearson, McLaughlin, Simpson and Williams. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: Update on the Status of New Tanker <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin reported that a week ago the Track Committee visited General to find out <br />the status of the tanker the Department ordered. He stated that everything is right on <br />schedule. They could actually deliver the tanker prior to the January 1, 1995 date; <br />however, they were told that due to budget constraints, the Department could not take <br />delivery prior to that date. <br /> <br />Assistant Fire Chief Kapler stated that the Fire Department has put in a requisition for a 44- <br />foot ladder to be installed on the new tanker. It will cost $1,800 plus $300 to rig it up. He <br />reported that this ladder would handle the tallest building in Ramsey. The Department's <br />present ladder is 29 feet.
