City Council public hearing and regular meeting minutes dated April 26, 1994. <br /> <br />so note the <br /> <br />NOTE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br />Motion by Chairperson Hetland and seconded by Commissioner Cook to so note the following: <br />1. Planning and Zoning public heating and regular meeting minutes dated April 5, 1994. <br />2. Planning and Zoning special meeting minutes dated April 21, 1994. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: PARK PLAN FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD PARK IN THE SUNNY <br /> PONDS SUBDIVISION. <br /> <br />Mr. Dave Osborn, representing the residents of the Sunny Ponds subdivision, outlined the <br />residents' recommendations for the park's development based upon meetings they held April 28 <br />and May 10, 1994: <br /> <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br />8. <br />9. <br /> <br />Activity center with one slide <br />Six bay swing set - 3 swings for older children, 3 for infants/toddlers <br />Bituminous path <br />16 x 20' shelter <br />Volleyball court <br />Rainbow climber with ladder <br />Two scoop shovels <br />Tetherball set <br />Bike rack <br /> <br />Mr. Osborn indicated they have received prices from several vendors on playground equipment <br />and the residents believe they can obtain the above equipment and include grading and seeding for <br />$32,250. The residents are willing to do whatever they can to keep the labor cost down. Mr. <br />Osbom believes there are 40+ residents who are willing to help in this endeavor. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos suggested that a subcommittee be formed to finalize the plans for <br />Stage I improvements to the park and also develop a Stage II and Stage III plan to ensure that the <br />park fits the needs of the residents as well as budgetary considerations. Commissioners Henn and <br />Johns volunteered for the subcommittee with Commissioner Swokowski as an alternate. The <br />meeting will be held at Sunny Ponds on May 16 at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Chairperson Hefland motioned to recommend the concept of the park in the Sunny Ponds <br />subdivision with the following provisions 1) the park remains handicap accessible 2) trees are not <br />removed and 3) the plans stay within budget. Commissioner Swokowski motioned to approve <br />"Solstice Park" as the name of the park.
