Absent: Commissioner Swokowski. <br /> <br />NOTE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission noted the City Council public heating and regular meeting <br />minutes dated May 24, 1994, and the joint City Council, Planning Commission, Economic <br />Development Commission meeting dated July 5, 1994. <br /> <br />NOTE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission noted the Planning Commission public hearing and regular <br />meeting minutes dated June 6 and July 5, 1994. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />DETERMINE PARK DEDICATION FOR NORTHFORK OAKS <br />ADDITION <br /> <br />Mr. Dennis Peck, Director of Development for Northfork, Inc., was present as a courtesy to the <br />Commission to provide background information relative to the development of the planned unit <br />development. <br /> <br />Mr. Peck indicated that he could not conceive of problems with dedicating an easement for a <br />pedestrian/bicycle connection at 164th Lane. He is willing to work with staff on the issue, but <br />wanted it understood that Northfork was not expecting to pay for the trail. He also voiced concern <br />with the progress of the ltasca trail and suggested that the City may want to consider contracting <br />out building of the trail. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder indicated that the contractor wants to use a new material on the trail and that an <br />answer is expected by the middle of August. If the City doesn't hear from the contractor, we are <br />interested in working with Northfork on the venture. <br /> <br />Mr. Peck advised the Commission that Northfork was to supply two one acre tot lots according to <br />the overall park agreement. They would like to consider a softball field also. Northfork would <br />like to determine what is happening with these issues prior to year's end. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Florentius and seconded by Commissioner Cook that a tree conservation <br />and reforestation plan be submitted at the time of grading plan submittal and that the developers be <br />required to provide a corridor for bicyclist/pedestrian travel between a Northfork Oaks residential <br />street and 164th Avenue N.W., no less than 35' in width, at a specific alignment to be determined <br />by City Staff. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Hetland, Commissioners Cook, Florentius, Henn, and <br />Johns. VotingNo: None.
