Motion by Chairperson Hetland and seconded by Commissioner Cook to recommend that City <br />Council grant preliminary plat approval to Fox Knoll with a 35 foot wide strip along the general <br />alignment as indicated on the map on page 38 of the agenda. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Hetland, Commissions Cook, Henn, and Johns. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Florentius. <br /> <br />Case #3: STATUS OF THE TREE CONSERVATION POLICY <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos informed the Commission that the case was tabled by City Council <br />until all frequent developers in Ramsey can be invited to a common forum to discuss the impacts of <br />this policy. <br /> <br />Commissioner Henn expressed interest in the discussion. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos stated that all Park and Recreation Commissioners will be invited and at least a couple of <br />representatives should be present. <br /> <br />No action taken. For informational purposes only. <br /> <br />Case #4: FILLING THE VACANCY ON THE PARK AND RECREATION <br /> COMMISSION <br /> <br />Mr. Michael Skinner and Ms. Beth Asfahl were present to field questions from the Commission <br />regarding various aspects of duties and scenarios that one might encounter in being a <br />Commissioner. <br /> <br />Each Commissioner then answered questions directed at them from the applicants regarding what <br />they personally would like to see as the role of the Commission 20 years from now. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johns and seconded by Commissioner Cook to recommend that City <br />Council appoint Michael Skinner and Beth Asfahl to the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Hetland, Commissions Cook, Henn, and Johns. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Florentius. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />The 728 Area Recreation Annual Report was discussed. Mr. Boos filled the Commission in on <br />what has transpired in the past to lead up to the current report. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos reported that the Ramsey Garden Club is landscaping portions of Emerald Pond Park. <br />Morton's Nursery donated some of the trees/bushes being planted. <br /> <br />The River's Bend shelter, donated by the Telephone Pioneers, is 90% completed. <br /> <br />Solstice Park has been graded by City Staff and seeded by contract.
