On-Road B trails (urban) will be 8 feet wide if a lane is on each side and 10' wide ff a <br />single treadway. <br /> <br />2. On-Road B trails (rural) will remain at 8-10 foot shoulders. <br /> <br />Typical Wooded trails will have the 3 foot and 6 foot buffers removed and one 10 foot <br />paved surface instead of separate surfaces side by side. <br /> <br />Rural Section B trails are not expected to be high volume trails allowing for the trail to be <br />on one side of the road only with equestrian use possible in the opposite ditch. <br /> <br />Commissioner Asfahl inquired as to the A.D.A. (Americans With Disabilities Ac0 requirements for <br />trails. They require trails to be paved. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Hetland and seconded by Commissioner Cook to adopt the changes <br />mentioned herein and to hold a public hearing at the next regular Park and Recreation Commission <br />meeting prior to recommending City Council adoption of the plan. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: 'Chairperson Hetland, Commissions Asfahl, Cook, Henn and <br />Skinner Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Johns and Florenfius. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos updated the Commissioners on the status of the former landfill <br />site informing them that there are now 4 inches of topsoil over the "ballpark area". Anoka Electric <br />Cooperative Will be running transmission lines in and possibly through the area of the proposed <br />park. <br /> <br />Solstice park play equipment installation is almost complete. Emerald Pond and Solstice Park <br />shelter construction has begun. <br /> <br />Pleasure rinks are being developed at Rabbit, River's Bend, Woodland Green and Riverwood <br />Hills parks. <br /> <br />The ice rinks will be open as early as December 16, but no later than December 23rd. <br /> <br />Next Park and Recreation Commission Meeting <br /> <br />The next public hearing and regular Park and Recreation Commission meeting will be held at 6:00 <br />p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 1995, at the Ramsey Municipal Center. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Cook and seconded by Chairperson Hetland to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carded.
