subsequent year, 100 percent of the cost of the project will be assessed to the property owners. Mr. Jankowski explained that if a benefitted party is on a corner lot, it will be assessed one-half the amount as it will be assessed one-half in the future when the other street is done. There are 14 projects for this program; 11 for sealeoating and three for bituminous overlay. This equals 10.7 miles of sealcoat and 3.7 miles of overlay. He described ;the sealcoating process and it's benefits and also described why the overlays have to b~ done. He summarized the public hearing process and the project time frame. Due to concerns expressed during the 1993 Street Maintenance Program, Mr. Jankowski added that a specific contractor penalty will be included if the street is not swept two weeks following Completion of the project. Mayor Gilbertson adjourned the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 7:47 in order to conduct the public heatings. Case 0'2: Public Hearing on Improvement Project #94-01; Seaicoating Ford Brook Estates 3rd Addition Mayor Gilbertson called the public hearing to order at 7:47 p.m. City Engineer Jankowski stated that Ford Brook Estates was paved in 1988 and has never been sealed. None. Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to close the public hearing. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Hardin, Beyer and Zimmerrnan. Voting No: None. The public hearing adjourned at 7:47 p.m. Case #3: Public Hearing on Improvement Project #94-02; Sealcoating Pine Cove Addition Mayor Gilbertson called the public hearing to order at 7:47 p.m. None. Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to close the public hearing. Motion carried.
