subsequent year, 100 percent of the cost of the project will be assessed to the property <br />owners. Mr. Jankowski explained that if a benefitted party is on a corner lot, it will be <br />assessed one-half the amount as it will be assessed one-half in the future when the other <br />street is done. There are 14 projects for this program; 11 for sealeoating and three for <br />bituminous overlay. This equals 10.7 miles of sealcoat and 3.7 miles of overlay. He <br />described ;the sealcoating process and it's benefits and also described why the overlays <br />have to b~ done. He summarized the public hearing process and the project time frame. <br />Due to concerns expressed during the 1993 Street Maintenance Program, Mr. Jankowski <br />added that a specific contractor penalty will be included if the street is not swept two weeks <br />following Completion of the project. <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson adjourned the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 7:47 in order <br />to conduct the public heatings. <br /> <br />Case 0'2: Public Hearing on Improvement Project #94-01; Seaicoating <br /> Ford Brook Estates 3rd Addition <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson called the public hearing to order at 7:47 p.m. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that Ford Brook Estates was paved in 1988 and has never <br />been sealed. <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to close the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Hardin, Beyer <br />and Zimmerrnan.
